Situated east of the old perfume capital of Grasse,
Chateauneuf-de-Grasse can trace its origins back to 2500 BC. Today
there's a pretty hilltop village and a small commercial centre
which attracts local residents from Chateauneuf and the
neighbouring hilltop villages of Le Bar-sur-Loup, Gourdon and Le
Rouret. Set at more than 350 metres above sea level, Chateauneuf
and its sister villages offer some of the Cote d'Azur's most
spectacular natural scenery. Here you will find private estates
amid olive groves and large villas with gardens and pools and
stunning views of both the mountains and the Mediterrannean. There
are wonderful walks along the river valleys and moutains of the
Gorge du Loup. And when you want somewhere a bit livelier, the
picturesque villages of Valbonne and St Paul de Vence are only a 10
minute drive away and it's less than half an hour to Cannes,
Antibes and the beaches of the coast.
